We are having such amazing Spring weather so far in Alberta. Ali & Mitch lucked out with picture perfect blue skies and clear mountain views for their wedding at Pinebrook Golf Course in Calgary. These two have an incredible community around them, and they know how to throw a great party!

We were thrilled to share in this day with you Ali & Mitch! Congratulations!

Wedding season kicked off in an amazing way this past Saturday with Maria & Roberto’s wedding in Calgary. I predict the new Peace Bridge will quickly become a Wedding Photography icon in the city. Here’s our take on it:

Congratulations to a truly lovely couple! Happy Honeymooning!

I love this image! Great job! Would love to see more pics :)

Kelsey and Andy had a beautiful wedding day on November 5th in Edmonton- sunny, temperatures above zero and no snow! Everyone was pretty pleased about that (myself included)!
Their ceremony was at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reception at the Petroleum Club.

Here are a few highlights from their wedding day:

Congratulations Kelsey & Andy- enjoy some time off in Hawaii!

This weekend kind of feels like the last hurrah of warm weather- I am enjoying it to the fullest! Ali & Mitch drove out from Saskatoon for the Thanksgiving weekend, giving us the opportunity to fit in their engagement session on Saturday. It was warm and lovely, even a few fall colors left in the River Valley!

Here are some highlights of their engagement photos:

Definitely looking forward to this wedding in May 2012! Thank you Ali & Mitch for making the trip and sharing your afternoon with me.

Cheers!

These two were married at Heritage Park on Saturday, September 24 in 30 degree heat! You never know when Alberta weather is going to pull out all the stops. The Fall colors seemed to appear overnight, just in time for this beautiful clear day.

A Scottish theme to this event- does anyone recognize DJ’s family tartan?

Loved being a part of your day Carrie & DJ. Enjoy your Honeymoon in Cuba!

We were looking forward to this wedding a little more than usual. Naomi & Chris are part of a close group of friends whose weddings we have been photographing every summer since 2008. They are all really lovely people to work with, so it’s always great to catch up with them at these weddings.

Naomi & Chris threw a very classy party at the Lougheed House in Calgary. Chris’ uncle even brought an antique car out for some fun. Here are a few highlights:

A wonderful sunny day for Amy & Matt in Calgary on August 13th. Here are a few photos from their reception at Heritage Park:

Sorry for the unannounced blogging hiatus! I’ve been enjoying Spring and doing exciting things like taking my Dad on a Caribbean Cruise- a first cruise for all of us- what an experience! It’s been great to take some time away to regroup.

Wedding Season has a later start for me this year, so I have been focusing on other projects, including a little studio work. It’s been a while since I pulled out the ol’ strobes & white paper backdrop, but the sensational amount of rain in Edmonton these past few weeks were just the right incentive to get the studio up & running. I had a blast! And who wouldn’t, with delightful little visitors like this one:

I had not one, but two wee visitors to the studio this week, and on Sunday I’ll be doing a maternity shoot. I’m on a roll with the studio stuff! Stay tuned for more.

Cheers!

This is one of my favourite shots from a wedding in Edmonton in October 2009. It was a very crisp day (about 4 degrees I believe) and we ducked in to this location to warm up and take a break. You never know when you are going to luck in to the perfect backdrop for a romantic wedding photo. Even at first glance I didn’t realize how perfect this set-up would be.

I am curious if any local Edmontonians can identify this location?

I can’t decide if I like it better in Black & White, or Color. Both options have a strength to them…

One of my projects at the moment is scouting out great locations in Edmonton for this year’s wedding season. Any suggestions? Fabulous outdoor & indoor locations needed. Great reason to explore our new city!

Cheers!
